Blog Description

A new rosary devotion to Mary's pondering heart, derived from the Church's Liturgy of the Hours.
The Florilegium is a scriptural rosary like the Angelus, with a verse of scripture for each Hail Mary.
There is a Mystery of the Lord for each day of the week, and a Florilegium of verses for each liturgical season:
the Florilegium Joyful in Ordinary Time; the Florilegium Sorrowful for Lent and Advent;
and the Florilegium Glorious for Easter, Christmas, & Feastdays.

Her virginity was as untouched in giving birth as in conceiving him.

Reaffirming Mary's divine motherhood.
Or it anyone says that she is the mother of a man, or the Christ-bearer,
or the Mother of Christ, suggesting that Christ is not God ... let him be anathema.

Apostolic Constitution Defining the Immaculate Conception
Absolutely free of all stain of sin, all fair and all perfect,
possessing the fullness of holy innocence and sanctity.

Apostolic Constitution Defining the Assumption
She by a unique privilege completely overcame sin by her immaculate conception,
so that she was not subject to the law of the corruption of the grave and did not have to wait until the end of time for the redemption of her body.

MARIAN ENCYCLICALS

Participating in the divine mysteries and being their guardian, on her as upon a foundation the noblest after Christ rises the edifice of the faith of all centuries.

She should be called Queen not only because of her divine motherhood but also because God willed her to have an exceptional role in the work of our salvation.

On the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Mystery of  Christ and the Church
In a singular way she cooperated in the Savior's work of returning supernatural life to souls, wherefore she is our Mother in the order of grace ... therefore invoked by the Church under the titles of Advocate, Auxiliatrix, Adjutrix, and Mediatrix.

We proclaim the most blessed virgin Mary Mother of the Church:
the Mother of all the people of God, of the Faithful as well as of the Pastors.

The Mother of the Church continues to fulfill from heaven her maternal role as cooperator in the development of divine life in the individual souls of redeemed men.

And we believe that the Blessed Mother of God, the New Eve, Mother of the Church,
continues in heaven in her maternal role with regard to Christ's members.

Development of Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary
In the first place it is supremely fitting that exercises of piety directed towards the Virgin Mary should clearly express the Trinitarian and Christological note that is intrinsic and essential to them.

Encyclical on the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Life of the Pilgrim Church
In light of this comparison with Eve, the Fathers of the Church, as also the Council, call Mary 'Mother of the living' and speak of 'death through Eve, life through Mary'.

ENCYLICALS ON THE ROSARY

Leo XIII
OCTOBER ENCYCLICALS
The more we fix our thoughts upon the character of the Rosary, the clearer its excellence and power appear to us.

There is no remedy for the ever-growing evils of our times except a return to Our Lord Jesus Christ and to His most holy precepts.

We have never ceased, in the face of approaching evils, to entrust to the most powerful protection of the Mother of God the destiny of the human family.

Among the pleasant recollections of our younger days are the Encyclicals which Pope Leo XIII used to write to the whole Catholic world as October drew near, in order to urge the faithful to devout recitation of Mary's rosary ...

It is a solemn custom of the faithful during the month of October to weave the prayers of the Rosary into mystical garlands for the Mother of Christ.

The Rosary of the Virgin Mary, which gradually took form in the second millennium under the guidance of the Spirit of God, si a prayer loved by countless Saints and encouraged by the Magisterium.
